Dr Vasudev Narayan Bedekar was the founder of Vidya Prasarak Mandal. He laid the foundation of V.P.M starting Bedekar Vidya Mandir Marathi medium school. He was a man of his words. To make education simpler for students residing in Thane, ' Thana College' one of the best college in Thane for Arts, commerce and science was started by him. Later law college, polytechnic and other different courses were also started. Under his leadership and guidance, Sou Anandibai Keshav Joshi English medium school was established in 1976. He used to attend all the functions regularly and would always appreciate all the students. He was very punctual and a man of great discipline. His birthday, 20th February was celebrated by V.P.M every year with great enthusiasm. In his memory, 'Art, craft and science' exhibition is arranged by the school on his birthday which has an active participation of all the students as well as teachers. His blessings will always be with us and will always show us the path of progress and success..!!!
