DIVINE PROVIDENCE SCHOOL, RAEBARELI is a Christian minority school administered and managed by the Raebareli Catholic Education Society, a registered body under the Societies Registration Act 1960. It had its humble beginning under the name “Divine Providence English Medium School” by Late Miss. Ruby Purcell, the only English Medium School of Raebareli at that time. Many of those who were educated in this school bring their children and grand children to this school for admission as they gratefully recall her impressive personality as well as her good work. The school owes much to her for her generous act of handing over the school and property to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Allahabad way back in 1952. She ran the school till the administration was taken over by Fr. Anacletus D'Souza who started the construction. It was continued by Late Rev. Fr. Henry D'Souza and the Divine Providence School was established in July 1990. The Foundation stone for the ground floor of the first block was laid by Rev. Msgr. Eugene Mascarenhas, The then Vicar General of Allahabad Diocese on the Thirty First of October Two Thousand and One. The newly constructed building was inaugurated and blessed by Most. Rev. Isidore Fernandes the then Bishop of Allahabad on the fourth of July two thousand two, in the year of the Lord, in the Presence of Rev. Fr. Charles Almeida, Principal, Rev. Fr. Edward Goveas Principal of St. Peter's School, Fathers of the Diocese, Sisters of St. Peter's School, and Teachers, Staff, students of Divine Providence School, Raebareli.
