Holy Cross School, Hazaribag is a Christian Minority School run by the Sisters of
Mercy of the Holy Cross, familiarly known as Holy Cross Sisters. It was established
on the occasion of 150 years Jubilee of the Congregation on 18th April 2006. The
congregation was found in Switzerland, in the year 1856 by two eminent personalities,
Rev. Fr. Theodosius Florentini, OFM Cap, and Blessed. Mother Theresa Scherer. It is an
international congregation and the members of this congregation work in Europe, North
& South America, Africa and Asia. Since 1894 the sisters started serving the people
of India. They render their services in various fields like formal and Non formal
education, Teacher’s Training Nurses Training and Vocational Training Centres, Hospitals,
Orphanages, Old Age Houses, Centre and so on. In all these, priority is given to the
less marginalized of the society.
