• Jyoti Niketan School, Azamgarh, a minority institution, was established in 1971 and is administered by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Varanasi, a registered charitable society. It is under the religious jurisdiction of Bishop of the Diocese of Varanasi. Sisters of Queen of the Apostles are actively involved in its administration.
• The school aims at the education of the catholic community around and extends its services to the members of the other communities to the extent possible. The school stands for academic excellence, development of skills and character formation based on the love of God and the service of mankind as modeled in Jesus Christ, with a view to train citizens remarkable for all-round development and sincere commitment to God and country.
• The School is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi (UP 015); with “No objection” Certificate from the U.P. Government. It prepares students for the I.C.S.E. (10 year course) and I.S.C. (12 year course). English is the medium of instruction, communication and examination in this institution. Curriculum and Text-books are mostly the same as prescribed by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi. The curriculum includes : Moral Science, English, Hindi, History, Civics, Geography, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Commerce, Computer Science, Social Studies, Computer Applications, Commercial Applications, Economics, Accountancy, Physical Education and SUPW. Hindi is taught from L.K.G. onwards.
